Meet Diego & Rasha — the heartbehind La Bottega di Layla
We’re Rasha and Diego — partners in life, adventure, and now fashion. La Bottega di Layla was born out of love, creativity, and the arrival of our daughter, Layla, who brought new color and meaning to our world.
Diego has spent two decades crafting brand strategies for names like PlayStation, Tiffany & Co., and Richemont. A creative at heart, he brings his love of art, drawing, and sneakers to La Bottega di Layla, designing limited-edition pieces that tell rich visual stories.
Rasha’s story begins in Egypt, where a childhood dream of global exploration turned into a remarkable career across four continents in supply chain and energy. With a deep love for technology and detail, she now ensures that every piece we design meets the highest standards — from the fabrics we select to the artisans we partner with. Her love for clothes and accessories adds soul to our collections.

Meet Mieke , Layla’s GodMother –Where Art Meets Adornment
Mieke Govaerts is a Belgian-born designer whose journey is a living celebration of art, emotion, and craftsmanship. Since 1993, she has been creating one-of-a-kind, handcrafted art jewels — timeless pieces that express both soul and style.
Mieke’s creative path began in the heart of Bruges, where she opened her first gallery dedicated to personal expression. Her talent was quickly recognized on the global stage, winning third prize at the international JEDIFA competition in Antwerp in 1995.
In 1996, she followed her passion to Italy, where she began designing for some of the world’s most prestigious jewelry houses. Fast forward to 2021, and she opened Maison Mieke Govaerts in Milan — an exclusive boutique where every piece is a fusion of form, feeling, and fine craftsmanship.
Lately, Mieke’s first love, painting, has reemerged in her work, bringing a beautiful harmony between canvas and stone, brushstroke and gem.
At La Bottega di Layla, Mieke brings her signature mix of poetry and precision — elevating jewelry into wearable stories that connect deeply with the spirit.
Meet Leandro’s – Model, Maker, and Creative Soul
Leandro’s Andorno brings a unique blend of artistry and style to La Bottega di Layla. A celebrated international model since 2019, Leandro’s grew up surrounded by creativity — painting, sculpting, and crafting jewelry alongside his artistically gifted family. That early connection to the arts still shines through in everything he does.
While his modeling career has taken him to some of the world’s top fashion capitals and into collaborations with leading designers and photographers, Leandro’s passion for design never took a back seat. For the past two years, he’s been a core part of the creative team at Maison Mieke Govaerts, helping craft collections that are elegant, expressive, and full of soul.
In 2025, he launched Andorno & Baralis, his very own jewelry line — a true labor of love. The brand debuted with a high-profile auction in New York, where his pieces were celebrated as wearable art.
At La Bottega di Layla, Leandro’s brings that same energy and vision, adding a fresh perspective and timeless aesthetic to our evolving world of fashion and craft.
